Gorgeous Melbourne home - Armelle Habib & Bruno Mein's stylish abode

Here is the beautifully put-together home of my friend, the extremely clever photographer Armelle Habib and her partner, Bruno Mein.  Once again, it was a shame to show just one room in the Sunday Life 'my space' page that ran in the Sunday Age (Vic) and The Sun Herald (NSW) this morning.  I would have loved to show the front garden, the iron staircase, the double-story bookshelf... and she knows that if Granny's lounge suite somehow goes missing... she will probably find it here at my place!

And fortunately for me, Armelle recently shot my home, and it has never looked so good!  Hopefully it will be seen in print very, very soon.  I will keep you posted.

more lovely vintage glasses

my shelves are groaning
the prettiest blue glass

I am a sucker for vintage glasses.  Can't resist them.   So despite my storage issues reaching epic proportions, six of these divine little glasses somehow made their way home from the Salvo's on Glenferrie Road today.  They are the best aqua-greeny-blue I have seen for a while.

how is it possible that these are not my chairs?

The Ants pants, image from Corporate Culture

Every time l see this image my heart goes aflutter.  Man I love those Ant Chairs.  So this morning when I popped in to Corporate Culture in Flinders Lane to collect some bits for a shoot, I nearly choked when I saw five of them in MAGENTA, for sale at half price!  I mean, that never happens.

Yes, the magenta line has been discontinued so CC are practically giving the chairs away at $499 each (well, sorta giving them away, it's all relative, right?)
Sadly my wallet is operating under "reduced circumstances" at the moment.... but I would just love it if  they went to one of your very good homes!

Flat out at the ironing board, well sort of...

I was out trawling the shops of Melbourne today, sourcing products for some upcoming shoots, when I got lucky at the Hawthorn Salvo's op shop.  I have been coveting a rustic wooden ironing board for ages: it's the honest simplicity of the lines that appeal to me - all very Shaker style meets Year 8 woodwork class.  And it was only $5.

Now I have another flat surface to pop things on.  I know what I will be doing once I have fed the girls tonight!

all you need is love.

whatever your feelings are about St Valentine's Day, there ain't no escaping it.  I am normally bah-humbug about it all, but must profess to be feeling the love after attending the wedding of my nephew Lewis and his bride, Hayley, on Saturday night.  They are just 22 and oh, so in love.  Ahhhhhhh.

Appropriately, my Valentines Day Savvy Shopper page ran in the Sunday Age M Magazine the next morning. I went nuts with the traditional colours of love and passion - red and pink, and sourced all the heart shaped homewares I could lay my hands on.  And yes, there are the pillows that I  L.O.V.E. from LUSH
